From supplies to training to travel prep, I’m almost ready — and the breeder’s updates make me more excited every day.
🐾 May Be Ready
It was another quiet week, but a surprisingly productive one.
Supplies
This week I picked up food and water bowls for home and a travel crate for the RV. I cleaned all the toys, added a pad to the crate, and my husband installed a divider so the large crate is now puppy-sized. I even got a toy box and organized everything, and the playpen is assembled and ready to go.
Training
I attended a lure coursing event and found a club I could train with — if this turns out to be something she enjoys.
Other Preparations
Now it’s time to get organized for the pickup trip. Since Delta counts her crate as my carry-on, I’ll only be able to bring a backpack. That means fitting an overnight’s worth of clothes and personal items — plus everything the puppy will need — into one bag.
I also received a signed letter from my doctor indicating that I would benefit from a service dog. While not required, it will be helpful during her training and may reduce questions we might otherwise encounter.
What's Next
- Build the RV travel crate
- Contact the lawn service to confirm pet-friendly products
- Finish sorting and arranging supplies
The breeder’s updates describe her exactly as I’d hoped — independent yet connected, curious yet steady. I’m nervous, excited, and more ready every day to welcome her home.
